This was an impromptu picture. I had an old sketch which I quite liked (a rejected rough from an old project) which I amended and worked from there. I liked the period costume. The creature was a later addition. I thought the picture lacked something. I'm not sure that it was the creature it lacked, but that's what it got anyway.
